Understanding Competencies
Competencies are measurable characteristics of a person that are related to success at work. A competency can be a behavioural or technical skill, an attribute or an attitude.
To measure a competency, first and foremost, observable behaviours of that given competency have to be determined. Afterwards, through the use of formulas, these observable behaviours are associated with the different personality dimensions and cognitive abilities.
It is, therefore, possible to determine if an individual has the natural reflexes for a given competency.
Competencies are made available once a candidate completes the Cognitive Ability Assessment and the Personality Assessment.
** Please note that the competencies do not take into consideration the individual’s experience, knowledge or acquired training. They reflect the natural talents of an individual. It is, therefore, possible to see the individual’s potential for a given position and to optimize his/her developmental process accordingly.
